My Bucket List

Since it is now 2012, I’ve decided to remove my previous list and rewrite it as of 23rd January 2012. Thanks for those who have commented previously. I’ve used some of your ideas as my inspiration. If you want to read about my big decision to move from Australia to London, check out my post here.

I’ll cross off the city and link my post to this page once I have visited these cities so wish me luck!

  1. Make a wish .. Becoz wishes do COME TRUE !!

  2. I like this list. I’m a big believer in list making, especially for the big things.
I can recommend Vietnam. I travelled there solo for a month and loved the bicycle riding, the pho and Sapa, up near the Chinese border. Also, I did the beaches / islands of Croatia last year and loved it!! I’ve got a couple of posts about Croatia on my blog if you’re looking for ideas. It is inspiring to see other people jotting down their dreams and going for it.

  3. Love your list, and love your blog! I feel like I’m travelling the world with you!

  4. I love this list! I share many of the same dreams to travel the world… but you are so far ahead of me! My husband and I are hoping to visit Italy next spring, and we will definitely look to your blog for some recommendations! I look forward to following you on all your adventures 🙂

Oh, and I’m glad you found my blog! Thanks for stopping by!!

    • Thanks for stopping by! The list is ever growing so hoping to update it as I cross things off. If you have any suggestions, feel free to let me know.
I hope you have an amazing visit to Italy next Spring, it’s a beautiful place and there’s plenty to do and see 🙂
Look forward to reading more about your adventures too!

  5. Cool blog!

  6. Yay for this list! I’m definitely inspired to create a list like this on my blog. The last time I did it, I ended up doing everything on the list 🙂 Thanks for the inspiration.

  7. I’m a list maker too. I was inspired by a site dayzero. I have 101 things to do in 1001 days. It’s plenty of time to save for the bigger dreams of travel. I too, want a white Xmas in New York! But I have small goals like Dance In The Rain for the fun & easy things to tick off.

    • A white xmas in NYC is definitely on top of my list too. I like your small goals of dancing in the rain. I haven’t put all the little goals on this list because I have kept that to myself, but I might just put a few on there just because it is fun to tick these things off 🙂

  8. Talk about traveling! Haha! =p I have the same list…. different countries but much shorter than yours…. As time goes by, the list goes on though! =D

  9. Dream big and make them happen!

  10. Good luck! So glad to see that you’re taking charge and following what makes you happy rather than goals other people might have for you. My bucket list has turned into a bucket book! I’m starting to check things off though and after seeing this I’m definitely feeling INSPIRED. I look forward to sharing back and forth with you. There’s a reason why our blogs found each other! 🙂

  11. And what about Belgium??? 🙂
On our blog, we also have a bucket list 🙂 We intend to make one for 2012 as well, and a top ten of the most beautiful places we have seen this year!

    • Antwerp in Belgium is a must visit for us because our friend recently moved there and when we saw the photos, they looked like something out of a story book!
I’d like to see your top ten of the most beautiful places, I’m already thinking about my next holiday.

  12. Love your list! Can’t wait to hear what you manage to accomplish!

  13. OK, now I’m inspired to come up with a list for my blog… One of them has to go back to the Philippines, where I was born…

    • That’s great. Do it!! I look forward to reading your list. Philippines is a beautiful place, I’ll be coming back more than once not only to see my extended family but to be a bit of a tourist.

  14. Great list you have here 🙂

I love reading your list! You’ve inspired me to create a list. I’m a visual person and I don’t know why I’ve never typed one up. Best of luck on yours!

    • That’s great! You could write a list and post it on your blog. Then cross it off as you complete your goals! I’m going to tick off a lot of my goals this year and make new ones 🙂

  16. Such a great list! I have a similar one for Anne Boleyn – I would like to see her room in the tower – the same room where Elizabeth was held.

    Very inspiring.

Hi there! Seeing that you’re such a big traveler you might as well put China in the list. As an Indonesian kid, i was not really interested to visit other Asian countries..i would say it’s a big effect of all-about-western oriented on our TV shows/commercials back then – which is sad. But now, the universe has brought me living in China, it opens my eyes to see how fascinating China and other Asian countries are!

My Canadian husband and I are now living in Xi’an, Sha’anxi province. It’s one of very historical cities in China, lots of exotic things to explore..but unfortunately nothing about beaches since it’s situated in the middle of the china huge land 😉 – I notice you fancy beaches more..

Anyway, excited to see your bucket list, as if that’s mine. But we’re not as lucky to travel that frequent.. 🙂 So, good luck with yours!

    • We definitely want to visit China oneday but not while we are in Europe as its so far away. We will most likely visit there when we are back in Australia as its much closer 🙂 those cities in China that you mentioned sound amazing and something I would love to see oneday.

Have fun with your travels and adventures!

  18. Great blog. I see no mention of Norway on your list. If you go, check out Geiranger Fjord and the Josterdalsbreen Glacier. Some photos of them on my blog for more info’. Keep getting away.

    • Thanks! Actually, Norway should be on my list as I’ll be going there to visit a friend so thanks for reminding me. Will check out your blog for ideas 🙂 Happy travels.

Interesting list of places to visit, always like to see what other people want to get from the world. Australia was always top of my travel bucket list and I went over a few years ago, seeing most (but not all) of what I wanted to see. Currently running through Eastern Europe. Couple of suggestions for places to visit though, firstly Kiev, mainly for the tour of Chernobyl and Pripyat which is supposed to be quite a powerful experience. I’m looking to do that in September this year, or early next year if I go to Russia instead. Also, and this is one for the future, Peru and the Inca Trail.

Anyway, had a quick browse through your blog and found it a good read, will certainly check back and read through some of your older posts

    • Great travel suggestions! I haven’t heard of those places but something I will keep in mind and research. I haven’t considered Russia yet but I’m sure that I’ll come across some beautiful cities that I’d like to visit in Russia. I have already been to Peru and loved it. We spent 21 days visiting various cities including the Inca Trail. I wrote about some of those places on this blog if you’re interested in reading about it 🙂

  20. I have been to one of the countries on your list – namely Latvia – I was in Riga and Jelgava, the latter is a small provincial city. There is a historical connection between the town and my own home town in Ireland so I just saw the museum and University. Riga is a lovely city and, like your comments on Copenhagen easy to walk round in.
If you wish you can see my blog posts about my trip – staring here

    • That’s fantastic to hear that you enjoyed your time in Latvia as I’ve heard many great reviews on things to do there. Just had a look at your post and the photos look amazing. Can’t wait to go there. Happy travels!

When you get to Croatia, make sure you spend some time on Hvar. Possibly one of the most beautiful places in the world and a really easy ferry ride from Split. And that’s coming from someone who has spent a lot of time in Oz!

  22. I am so glad that you can travel and see all of these wonderful places……I, too, have a bucket list and this past June & July, I was able to tick off one place…..we went to London & it was wonderful…we loved it……My next place is Venice during Carnival time……I love the costumes…. I have wondered if you have to pay the people, to make a pic of them? Thanks……….Mary Ann

    • Your adventures sound great. I’m glad that you have managed to tick off places on your bucket list.
You do not have to pay people to take a pic of them but you should ask them before taking one 🙂

  23. If you’re an avid golfer, put Bandon Dunes on your bucket list. I just crossed it off mine and it was golf heaven/nirvana. Incredibly beautiful scenery and courses and first-class service with great value.

Stone Henge is definitely a must see 😀 It’s interesting to think how the stones actually got there in the first place! I guess it’s a mystery we’ll never know the answer too.

Love this! I’ve had the travel bug for sometime, but ended puting it to rest. After reading through your blog, the travel bug is back!

  26. Hi Christine, I’m so glad I ran across your blog. Australia is on my bucket list. Think about adding Seattle USA to your list. It’s a wonderful place. It is very different from California.

    • Hi! That’s fantastic 🙂 I hope that you visit Australia, it’s an amazing place! I’m here now so do let me know if you need any suggestions 🙂
I agree that Seattle is a great place. I wish I had more time there so maybe I’ll go back again.
